RUN EMZ

I'm Emily (AKA Emz). I’m a 36-year-old mom. I started running to recover from an ankle injury that ended my volleyball career. I began running to stay fit but quickly developed a love for the sport, so I decided to use my feet to raise awareness for causes I care about. Two years ago I completed a 24-hour, 100 mile treadmill run to help Arizona's Sojourner Center, a shelter for battered women.

This year I thought about doing another 100 mile run but had some hesitation. Then I learned about Effect.org, an incredible non-profit building affordable, high-impact schools for children in India. Supporting Effect has given a new meaning to my training and inspired me to take on this epic challenge.

On Sept. 12 and 13 in downtown San Francisco, I'll run another 100 and I'd love your support. A donation of as little as 25¢ per mile ($25) will make a huge impact in the lives of children who lack the educational resources we take for granted.
